Brachioplasty
Brachioplasty or more commonly known as arm lift surgery, is the removal of excess skin on the upper arms. Due to aging or significant weight loss, women or men man develop laxity (excess skin) of the upper arm that is not addressed by means of diet or exercise. Our surgeons can correct these aesthetic issues safely and effectively by means of a simple surgical procedure.
Patients must understand that, this surgery does result in a longitudinal scar along the medial (inner) aspect of the upper arms. Although, the surgery dramatically improves the appearance of the arms and our surgeons see to the best of their ability to conceal the scar.
Can I undergo brachioplasty?
Candidates for arm lift surgery, or brachioplasty, are most often post weight loss patients, but any adult who suffers from excess skin of the arms may be able to benefit from this procedure. Patients must be in good overall health, able to obtain medical clearance to undergo general anesthesia. It is best to be near your ideal body weight as excess weight gain/loss will render the surgery pointless. However, if you would like some fat deposits removed during your procedure, liposuction of the arm along with a arm lift surgery is possible.
