Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty or more commonly known as nose surgery/ nose-job is one of the most sought out procedures in plastic surgery.
Nose is the most defining character of the face. When appealing, it highlights the eyes, mouth and cheeks. If the nose is out of proportion, naturally the face becomes less attractive. This is why rhinoplasty plays a crucial role on one's self image and appearance. Surgery is generally done under general anaesthesia, usually patients are free to go home the same day.
There are two methods of rhinoplasty, based on the extent of your needs our surgeon will choose the procedure.
Open Rhinoplasty
In this approach, the surgeon visualizes by creating a small incision on the Columella (flap of skin that separates your nostrils). This allows the surgeon to evaluate the individual components of the nose in their natural position. This technique is opted for extensive reshaping of nose and for corrections involving the tip of the nose.
Closed Rhinoplasty
Also referred to as endonasal rhinoplasty, in this procedure all incisions are made inside the nostril, therefore no visible scarring is seen on the outside. However, as the surgeons field of work is minimized, extensive work is not possible. Generally this technique is used to fix issues with the nasal bridge, for example a deviated nasal septum.
Decision on which method of rhinoplasty is best for you, should be formulated after you discuss with our surgeons of your needs/expectations.
